Croatia to Hire Filipino Workers Under No-Fee Government Program

    • DMW, Croatia set up a no placement fee, government-to-government hiring scheme.
    • Focus on hospitality roles such as housekeepers, front desk staff, and office workers.
    • DMW warns against illegal recruiters; applicants must wait for official announcements.

Filipinos who want to work abroad may soon find job opportunities in Croatia, as its officials and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) are preparing a government-to-government hiring program. Under this scheme, applicants will not pay any placement fees, and the hiring will be handled directly by DMW, without recruitment agencies.

The initial demand is in the hospitality sector, with openings for hotel housekeepers, front desk staff, and office workers. DMW reminded job seekers to wait for its official announcements and avoid illegal recruiters who may take advantage of the program.

This initiative was highlighted during a mega job fair organized by the Manila Public Employment Service Office in celebration of National Heroes Day. Employers from Japan, Norway, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, and Ireland also joined the fair.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, the start of the 'ber' months has increased demand for store crew, sales representatives, and housekeeping jobs. Interested applicants can apply through local employment offices, official websites, or the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) portal.

DMW again urged Filipinos to avoid job offers circulating on social media or messaging apps and to always check if companies have valid job orders and licenses.
