Transcosmos Vietnam Unit Signs MoU With HUFLIT On IT Collaboration

    • Transcosmos technology Vietnam has signed an MoU with HUFLIT to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and nurture Vietnam’s next generation of IT talent.
    • The partnership expands into internships, faculty development, tech seminars, and scholarships that offer graduating students direct employment opportunities at transcosmos.
    • Leaders from both sides emphasized balancing AI-driven innovation with human-centric skills to build a capable, globally competitive workforce for Vietnam’s IT sector.

Transcosmos has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, transcosmos technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT), marking a new phase in their growing collaboration. The signing ceremony at HUFLIT formalized this partnership in a bid to bridge the divide between industry and academia for the purpose of nurturing the next generation of IT professionals in Vietnam.

Transcosmos technology Vietnam, originally established as a joint venture with Technologic Arts in 2014 and fully acquired by transcosmos in 2017, has developed a strong reputation for agile software development services for Japan and ASEAN markets. With a team enriched by certified Drupal, Acquia, and AWS engineers and qualified PMPs, the company is known for developing sophisticated digital solutions, including serverless applications for a global clientele.

HUFLIT, established in 1992 as the first private university in Southern Vietnam, has long been acknowledged for pioneering high-quality education in the fields of foreign languages and information technology. Emphasizing practical training and international cooperation, its employment rate is over 94%. The university is known for its active interaction with Japanese governmental institutions and enterprises.

Students at HUFLIT lead various extracurricular activities that help them develop essential skills for a future career on the international stage. Before the signing of the MoU, the university and transcosmos technology Vietnam had already worked together on various recruitment and career-oriented activities, which created a background for further mutually beneficial cooperation and made their objectives more similar.

The new MoU expands their cooperation significantly, outlining areas such as educational collaboration to increase IT job opportunities, academic exchange through seminars and technology-sharing platforms, internship programs to strengthen practical skills, faculty development initiatives that allow professors to gain industry exposure, and a scholarship program that will give two students annually the opportunity to work at transcosmos technology Vietnam after graduation.

Speaking at the ceremony, HUFLIT President Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the university's longstanding affinity with Japan and its commitment to fostering cross-cultural opportunities for students. He emphasized that HUFLIT's mission goes beyond academics toward committing students to sustainable careers through internships, exchange programs, and industry engagement. He acknowledged that Mr. Daisuke Kamada's emphasis on communication, creativity, and foundational learning finds deep resonance in HUFLIT's values at a time when AI is reshaping education.

Mr. Kamada, the CEO of transcosmos technology Vietnam, shared similar sentiments in his remarks. He said that HUFLIT’s curriculum perfectly combines foreign language proficiency with IT skills, so students immediately become employable anywhere in the world. Regarding concerns that AI will reduce educational opportunities, he favored striking a balance in technological advancement with the development of human-oriented competencies.

The MoU is not an agreement but a commitment to nurture talent with creativity and practical ability. He confirmed the group’s determination to contribute state-of-the-art technologies, insights and field experience to make students industry-ready for eventually making a bigger contribution to the IT sector in Vietnam. Both presidents concluded with promises for the bright future of the partnership and the vision to shape a capable and empowered workforce for the future.
