BAC-ZICO Trust Scholarships Open Doors for B40 Students

In a significant move to widen access to higher education, BAC Education Group and ZICO Trust (M) Berhad have formalised a partnership that will provide full scholarships to ten students from B40 households. The memorandum of understanding, signed in Petaling Jaya, marks a practical step towards reducing financial barriers that often prevent capable young Malaysians from pursuing professional degrees.

Under the three-year programme, ZICO Trust will cover tuition fees exceeding RM160,000 annually for the selected recipients. Six students will enrol in the Bachelor of Laws programme offered through the University of London International Programme via BAC Education Group. Two students will pursue Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degrees at Veritas University College, while the remaining two will complete Bachelor of Business Administration programmes through Veritas University College’s open and distance learning pathway. This mix of qualifications reflects a deliberate effort to prepare graduates for high-demand professional fields in law, finance and business management.

The scholarships target students from B40 households who demonstrate strong academic performance and maintain good disciplinary records throughout their studies. Beyond financial support, recipients will be required to serve a one-year employment bond with ZICO Trust Malaysia after graduation. This structured pathway aims to give graduates early professional experience, mentorship and a clearer entry into the workforce, addressing both the cost of education and the challenge of transitioning from campus to career.

Raja Singham, co-founder and chief future officer of BAC Education Group, emphasised that education must equip students for more than academic credentials.
