360training Buys UST Training To Boost Regulated Learning Market

    • 360training has acquired UST Training, a pioneer in online education for underground storage tank operators, strengthening its position in regulatory and compliance training in the U.S.
    • UST Training’s Tank Savvy courses for Class A/B and Class C operators will now be integrated into 360training’s scalable platform, expanding access to high-quality, safety-focused instruction.
    • The merger enhances compliance, community safety, and industry alignment, offering learners improved course tracking, certifications, and enterprise training solutions.

360training further solidified its position as a leading provider of regulatory and compliance training in the United States with its acquisition of UST Training, a pioneer in online operator education for underground storage tank systems. Since being founded in 2003, UST Training has led the way with state-approved online courses for Class A/B and Class C operators and has trained over 1.5 million Class C operators and 20,000 Class A/B operators nationwide in just over two decades. Its Tank Savvy brand is widely regarded throughout the fuel-handling industry and serves as a trusted benchmark for high-quality, safety-focused instruction.

Announcing the acquisition, Tom Anderson, CEO of 360training, said the move represents a major milestone for the company. For many years, UST Training has set the standard for operator education and environmental safety, he said, adding that integrating its highly regarded content library and Tank Savvy brand into 360training's scalable learning platform will enable the company to provide more holistic solutions to regulated industries. He maintained that this is aimed at increasing access to approved training that is meant to protect communities, the environment, and fuel-system operators.

Ben Thomas, Founder of UST Training, greeted the acquisition as an opportunity to increase the footprint and reach of the business he founded. He stated, "I am proud of the enduring community that has developed at UST Training among learners, regulators, and industry leaders", and said that he intends to have ongoing involvement as the two firms integrate resources and initiatives. Thomas said, "Combining with 360training an organization similarly dedicated to the values of safety, compliance, and education for nearly two decades represents a thrilling new chapter for our company and our industry".

UST Training is highly regarded for its role in guiding operators through the complex and often fragmented regulatory environment that governs underground storage tanks across America. Because UST regulations differ significantly from state to state, the company maintains a robust online resource that outlines training requirements for each jurisdiction.

"This focus on compliance and community safety is in lockstep with 360training's mission", said Samantha Montalbano, COO of 360training. "By merging UST Training's technical knowledge with 360training's infrastructure and experience in regulated education, this new partnership will enhance the delivery of approved, environmentally relevant training, which keeps operators compliant in all regions".

The acquisition also reinforces industry alignment through the existing membership of UST Training in the Petroleum Equipment Institute, a leading industry organization focused on advancing safety, reliability, and environmental protection within the petroleum equipment sector. 360training will not only continue this membership but build upon it, making sure that UST operator education stays tied to industry standards and best practices.

With UST Training's catalog now added to 360training's global platform, learners will see an expanded set of courses, better ways to track their progress and certifications, and enriched team-training options for enterprise clients. According to Ryan Linders, CMO of 360training, combining trusted content with a modern user experience will enable operators to meet deadlines, efficiently meet compliance requirements, and have easier access to training.
