AIA Philippines and Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) to unveil 'Gen H: Generation Healthy', a fresh set of educational videos designed to encourage Filipino students to develop healthier behaviors from a young age.

The show, which went on air on October 06, is shown every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on Knowledge Channel and its online channels, bringing the AIA Healthiest Schools (AHS) curriculum to life in the form of interactive video lessons on nutrition, physical activity, mental wellbeing, and caring for the environment.

The program aims to make health education interactive, engaging, and accessible to students in over 10,000 public schools nationwide. The event was hosted at Naga Central School II and was graced by the presence of Naga City mayor Leni Robredo, DepEd representatives, AIA Philippines and KCFI executives, members of local government, community students, and teachers. Participants were engaged in interactive sessions and were shown a special teaser of the 'Gen H' series.

“With Gen H, we’re helping shape a generation that’s not only health-conscious but also community-minded and environmentally aware”, said Melissa Henson, AIA Philippines chief marketing officer. We are particularly thankful to the City of Naga for opening its doors to Gen H. Starting the programme in a city recognized for its leadership, solid education programs, emphasis on health, and abiding sense of community inspires young Filipinos to make small, smart choices daily choices that can enable them to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.

Melissa furthered that through their cooperation with the Knowledge Channel Foundation were able to reach even more students, making interaction and educational content possible which 'inspires action and builds lifelong habits'.

Moreover, Rina Lopez, co-founder, president, and executive director of KCFI, said, “We at KCFI aim to turn health education into a powerful force for change. By bringing it into classrooms and homes across the country, we’re planting the seeds of lifelong wellness and shared responsibility starting with our children and extending it to communities”.

Mayor Robredo also thanked both AIA Philippines and KCFI for introducing the initiative in Naga City. "We support you in your call for better educational materials for our children. Parents and teachers, we have one common dream: to have healthy children not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. It's like we're holding a ball: if we're healthy, our pass will be good, making the game better for the whole team, the family, the barangay, and the community", she added.

The Naga incident also saw the beginning of the 'Gen H School Roadshow', which will be touring schools around the country to encourage health, wellness, and environmental awareness among students.

Earlier this year, AIA Philippines and KCFI entered into a memorandum of agreement to seal their collaboration in bringing the AIA Healthiest Schools programme to more students nationwide. Under this partnership, Knowledge Channel has produced nine ten-minute segments on such subjects as healthy food, active lifestyles, and mental well-being, co-developed with DepEd and in line with AIA's 'Rethink Healthy' campaign.

The 'Gen H' lessons will be made available across the country through Knowledge Channel's television and online networks, giving teachers easy-to-use materials that they can incorporate into class activities and access by students in even the farthest reaches.
