The Australasian Institute of Packaging (AIP) is bringing a series of free educational programs to ProPak Vietnam 2026, offering attendees the opportunity to gain insights into the latest trends and innovations in packaging while earning professional recognition. In partnership with Informa Markets, the AIP will host four programs designed to support learning and professional development across the packaging industry, with simultaneous translation available in Vietnamese and English.
Participants can earn points toward the Certified Packaging Professional designation and receive a Certificate of Attendance, underscoring the value of these sessions for industry professionals seeking to advance their skills. The three-day ProPak Vietnam tradeshow will kick off with the DrinkTech Conference on March 31, which will focus on developments in the beverage packaging sector. The conference will feature 12 expert speakers across three sessions, exploring topics such as sustainable packaging innovations, recycling practices, container deposit schemes, labeling requirements, materials, and emerging design trends.
Among the panellists are representatives from leading organizations including Tomra, MCC Label, SIG, UPM Adhesive Materials, Super Aqua, the World Packaging Organisation, and the AIP itself. Attendees will have the chance to engage with these experts, gaining insights into both the technical and strategic aspects of beverage packaging.
On April 1, the Vietnam Packaging Forum will provide another learning platform with 17 speakers across five sessions. This forum will cover critical industry topics, including packaging design, materials selection, regulatory compliance, digitalization, sustainable food systems, and examples of best practices. Key panellists include the National Plastics Action Partnerships Program- United Nations Development Program, Acviss Technologies, Mitsui Chemicals, PEFC, the World Packaging Organisation, and the AIP.

The forum promises to be a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities shaping the packaging sector in Vietnam and beyond. The educational program continues on April 2 with two AIP mini training courses designed to provide hands-on, practical learning experiences. The first, 'Unboxing Accessibility: Easy to Open, Reclose, Grip & Handle Packaging', will be led by Nerida Kelton, vice president of sustainability & Save Food at the WPO and executive director of the AIP, along with Professor Pierre Pienaar, education director at the AIP.
This session will focus on designing accessible packaging, offering practical tools, case studies, and guidelines to ensure inclusivity for all consumers. The second course, 'The Future of Flexible Packaging', also led by Professor Pienaar, will examine the role of flexible packaging in modern supply chains, sustainable material choices, industry drivers, recycling challenges, and resources for brand owners and suppliers.
All four programs are open to industry participants, who are encouraged to pre-register to secure their place. In addition, the AIP will have a presence on the tradeshow floor at stand BB25, offering further opportunities to connect, learn, and explore innovations in packaging. Together, these programs underscore the AIP’s commitment to advancing knowledge, supporting professional development, and fostering innovation within the global packaging industry.
