The Australian International School in Singapore (AIS) has appointed Steve Lupton as its new Head of School, strengthening its leadership team with an experienced educator and international school leader. The announcement was made on 13 January 2026.

AIS is an IB World School serving children from two months to 18 years and is known for its close-knit international community. Mr Lupton brings decades of global education experience to the role. Most recently, he spent nearly nine years at Repton Abu Dhabi, where he held senior leadership positions. During his tenure, the school achieved an Outstanding rating from both British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspectors and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

Before his time in the Middle East, Mr Lupton taught at Sydney Grammar School for more than eight years. He began his career in Australia as a Physical Education teacher and later led PE departments in the United Kingdom. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Sport, he draws strongly on his background in high-performance sport to shape his leadership style.
