BDx Data Centers has partnered with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to create a robust pipeline of skilled technical talent for Singapore’s growing digital infrastructure sector. The collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), will span all three ITE colleges, giving students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at BDx’s state-of-the-art AI-ready SIN1 facility, which features a quantum computing testbed.
Peter Lam, CEO of ITE, emphasized that the partnership will integrate real-world data centre operational scenarios into teaching modules, allowing students to graduate with practical, job-ready skills tailored to the sector’s rapidly evolving technical demands. “This collaboration ensures that our students not only understand the theory behind digital infrastructure but also acquire the competencies required to excel in mission-critical environments”, he said.
Mayank Srivastava, CEO of BDx Data Centers, highlighted the importance of developing local talent to strengthen Singapore’s leadership in AI and digital infrastructure. He noted that students will gain practical skills essential for supporting operations that power everything from financial services to emerging AI applications, reinforcing Singapore’s resilience and long-term competitiveness in the global technology landscape.

The initiative also aligns with Singapore’s Green Data Centre Roadmap and broader Smart Nation ambitions, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals capable of operating infrastructure that underpins AI, financial systems, and essential services. By equipping students with hands-on knowledge in advanced data centre technologies, the collaboration ensures that Singapore remains at the forefront of innovation and sustainable digital development.
According to the Asia-Pacific Data Centre Association, Singapore’s data centre sector currently supports around 7,000 high-value jobs, with projections indicating that this number could nearly triple by 2030. Economic contributions from the sector are also expected to grow almost ninefold over the same period, highlighting the critical need for a new generation of technically proficient professionals. Through this partnership, ITE and BDx are helping students step confidently into careers that will shape the future of Singapore’s digital economy, combining education with real-world, high-impact experience.
