- CBSE cancels remaining Class 12 exams in West Asia due to conflict.
- Hybrid evaluation method combines exam performance with school assessments.
- Schools to upload marks from April 6 to 13, with final results based on this data.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a hybrid evaluation method for Class 12 students in West Asia after cancelling the remaining exams due to the ongoing Iran-US-Israel conflict. The exams for some subjects were held between February 17 and 28, but those scheduled for March and April have been cancelled.
To ensure timely results, CBSE will combine actual exam scores with school assessments. Schools must upload marks on the CBSE portal between April 6 and 13, with no changes allowed after submission. For subjects with completed exams, performance will be used, while for others, marks will be taken from school-based assessments, including the best scores from quarterly, half-yearly, and pre-board exams.

For subjects with 80 or 70 marks, the best of three periodic test scores will be used. In subjects with lower marks, such as 60, 50, or 30, pre-board exam scores will be considered. Internal assessments and practical scores remain unchanged, as these have already been submitted by schools.
The hybrid evaluation system ensures fair and transparent results, balancing the disruption caused by the conflict with academic integrity. The CBSE aims to provide reliable results for nearly 23,000 students in over 200 schools across seven West Asian countries.
