Chennais Amirta International Aviation College, one of India’s leading aviation training institutions, has taken a significant step in expanding its global aviation education footprint through a strategic collaboration with University College of Aviation Malaysia (UniCAM). The partnership aims to provide students with enhanced practical exposure, industry-relevant skills, and international learning opportunities, preparing them for careers in the rapidly evolving global aviation sector.
The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed by Boomee Naathan, Chairman of Chennais Amirta Group of Institutions, and Umar Abdillah Anwar, Dean of UniCAM Malaysia, with senior representatives from Future Dream Academy Malaysia and Chennais Amirta in attendance. As part of the initiative, the college hosted a four-day international training program from April 6 to 9, 2026, featuring lectures and workshops led by global aviation experts and UniCAM alumni. The sessions covered emerging topics such as Aviation 4.0 and digital transformation, the growing role of artificial intelligence in aviation, airport operations, flight management innovations, and non-traditional career pathways within the industry.

“Our goal has always been to provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences for our students. We are among the first colleges in South India to provide training at international airports as part of the academic journey. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a real-life aircraft model and a miniature airport, students gain unparalleled practical exposure. While our focus has been South India, we are now expanding pan-India and will soon establish a presence in New Delhi”, said Mr. Boomee Naathan. He also highlighted the sector’s growing demand, noting that India will require 1.5-2 lakh skilled aviation professionals by 2035 across roles such as pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff.
Under this collaboration, students enrolled in Chennais Amirta’s Bachelor’s degree, B.Sc. in Air Transport, and Diploma in Aviation and Tourism Management programs complete the first two years in Chennai, followed by a structured transition to UniCAM Malaysia for the final year, which includes six months of academic training and a six-month internship at Malaysian airports. Students also benefit from zero-cost IATA certification, a global standard in aviation, provided by Greeshma, All-India First Rank Holder in IATA, giving them a competitive edge without additional financial burden.
Through global collaborations, hands-on training, and industry-integrated programs, Chennais Amirta continues to strengthen its leadership in aviation education, offering students a clear pathway to international aviation careers while supporting practical learning, placements, and career readiness.
