CIFAL Singapore Builds Green Skills Through Student Challenge

    • NTU students learn sustainability through visual storytelling, using design and data to explain environmental issues
    • The initiative builds research, design, and communication skills relevant to green and future-ready careers
    • Students focus on sustainable cities, linking global goals with real-world urban challenges

CIFAL Singapore, hosted by Nanyang Technological University, has launched the Green at Heart: Sustainability Infographics Challenge to strengthen sustainability education and student engagement. The initiative supports the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by encouraging students to explore environmental challenges through data-driven design and visual communication.

Open to NTU students from all disciplines, the challenge uses creative storytelling to make sustainability learning practical, engaging, and skills-focused. Centered on the theme of sustainable cities, students were asked to design original infographics that present ideas for building more resilient, inclusive, and environmentally responsible urban spaces.

Participants addressed real-world issues across three themes Sea, Land, and Sky while linking their work to at least one United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This structure helped students connect global sustainability frameworks with local challenges and actionable solutions.
