Dharmendra Pradhan Launches CII Career Centre in Sambalpur

    • Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurates CII Model Career Centre to boost youth employment.

    • Around 40 trained youths receive employment letters, including jobs with Tata Electronics and opportunities in Japan.

    Sambalpur received a major boost for youth employment as Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a CII Model Career Centre (MCC) today. The centre is designed to offer career guidance aligned with students’ education and interests, along with modern skill training in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

    Addressing the gathering, Pradhan urged industries like Bajaj and JCB to invest in Odisha and hire skilled local youth. He also handed out employment letters to around 40 trained youths, including placements with Tata Electronics in Bengaluru, offering starting salaries of nearly Rs 2 lakh per year.

    Pradhan highlighted CII’s role in training and placing students across industries. He noted Sambalpur’s collaboration with JITCO, under which 17 youths will travel to Japan to work in manufacturing and hospitality sectors in the first phase.

    The Minister emphasised Sambalpur’s emerging identity in 'Shram Shakti', reflecting its culture, art, and iconic landmarks like the Hirakud Dam. He added that initiatives like the MCC align with the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed Odisha and a stronger India, providing local youth with skill development and meaningful employment.
