Globe, TIP Join Forces To Enhance Students' Online Safety

    • Globe Telecom and Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) launch the Digital Thumbprint Ambassador Program to train students in digital citizenship and online safety.
    • Selected students will become peer trainers and ambassadors, gaining mentorship, internships, and resources to lead cyber wellness initiatives on campus and beyond.
    • The program builds on Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program, empowering students to transform awareness of online risks into proactive, responsible digital behavior.

Globe Telecommunications and Technological Institute of the Philippines joined forces to equip students with the knowledge and tools to champion digital citizenship. The collaboration brings in the Digital Thumbprint Ambassador Program-a new chapter in Globe's award-winning Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) aimed at translating awareness of online risks into proactive behavior.

In a statement, Yoly Crisanto, Globe's Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, underscored that while young people are leading the way in the digital world, they are also among its most vulnerable citizens. They want to give students the tools and confidence to protect themselves and others online through the said partnership, enabling them to foster a safer, more empathic digital community.

The selected T.I.P. students under the new initiative will be trained by Globe to be Digital Thumbprint Ambassadors and peer trainers who will lead efforts in their institution and beyond towards promoting digital literacy, mentoring fellow students, and representing T.I.P. in cyber wellness events. These ambassadors will further have access to internships, mentorship, tailored learning resources, and support to bring their community-based projects to life.

In this connection, T.I.P. Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr Frank D. Alejandrino noted that the institution believes in the empowerment of students academically and socially, and this partnership provides a platform for students to turn their digital knowledge into purposeful action.

The ambassador programme builds on Globe's ongoing campaign to promote online safety in the Philippines - through technology and education. The Digital Thumbprint Program has so far reached nearly two million students and over 115,000 teachers, with more than 21,000 students and educators attending sessions in 2025 alone.

This partnership seeks to take the concept of digital citizenship from passive awareness to that of active participation by empowering students to speak up and act on issues related to things like cyber‐bullying, privacy, and respect online. This will help build a world where integrity, empathy, and responsibility mean something online.
