O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) launched the Shallu Jindal Performing Arts Academy, a dedicated hub for performing arts education, research, and cultural engagement. The Academy features a 1,000-seat auditorium, advanced acoustics, tiered seating, and 24 gallery spaces, providing students, faculty, and visiting artists a platform for performances, workshops, and exhibitions.
The inauguration was attended by Padma Bhushan awardees Dr. Raja Reddy, Dr. Radha Reddy, and Dr. Kaushalya Reddy, alongside Ms. Shallu Jindal, Chairperson of the Jindal Foundation, and Mr. Naveen Jindal, JGU Chancellor. Dr. Raja Reddy emphasized that institutional platforms like this are essential to preserve India’s artistic traditions and train future generations in disciplined creative practice.
Ms. Shallu Jindal highlighted the Academy’s role in fostering empathy, creativity, and reflection through arts, while Mr. Naveen Jindal underlined the importance of integrating cultural education into holistic learning. The Academy will also support the launch of a new School of Performing Arts at JGU, offering courses in music, dance, theatre, and other creative disciplines with a strong focus on experiential learning.

Designed by architect Stephane Paumier, the Academy enhances JGU’s cultural infrastructure alongside existing facilities like the Jindal International Convention Centre. The initiative positions JGU as a center where artistic practice, scholarship, and public engagement advance together, preparing students for careers in arts, culture, and creative industries.
