True educational value emerges when students can connect classroom learning to real-world experiences. Recognizing the growing need for practical skills in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing world, the Jollibee Group has partnered with the Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd) to co-develop a Senior High School (SHS) Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Tech Pro elective aligned with the Strengthened SHS Curriculum. The initiative was officially launched on January 15, 2026, at Jollibee Plaza in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, during the DepEd SHS QSR Curriculum and Work Immersion Workgroup Kickoff.
The collaboration features two interconnected components: a hands-on QSR curriculum and an immersive work immersion program. The curriculum introduces students to the fast-paced world of quick service restaurants, equipping them with foundational knowledge and skills relevant to high-volume, customer-focused environments. Students learn critical workplace competencies, including discipline, teamwork, consistency, and systems thinking, while gaining exposure to real-world operational settings. This approach allows them to translate classroom theory into practical experience, preparing them for future employment.

Ruth Angeles, CHRO of Jollibee Group Philippines and HR Head for Jollibee Brand International, emphasized the significance of the program, noting that it aims to help learners graduate with employable, future-ready skills. “Together, the curriculum and work immersion are designed to help students step into the workforce with confidence, readiness, and aspiration”, Angeles said. She highlighted the broader goal of bridging the gap between schools and industry, ensuring that students not only gain competencies but also understand workplace expectations and professional behaviors.
The initiative leverages a cross-functional team of industry experts within the Jollibee Group to transform QSR knowledge into classroom-ready learning experiences, fully aligned with DepEd standards. By combining education, industry expertise, and work immersion, this program equips the next generation with skills, confidence, and resilience, fostering a workforce prepared for the demands of the future.
