KKU and Sports Authority Partner to Advance Muay Thai Skills

    Khon Kaen University (KKU) and the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen education, research, and skills development in Muay Thai through sports science and technology. The partnership aims to build job-ready talent and elevate the sport to international standards.

    The agreement focuses on applying modern sports science, research, and innovation to improve athlete performance, coaching quality, and professional management of Muay Thai. By linking academic expertise with the sports ecosystem, both institutions aim to create structured career opportunities for students, athletes, coaches, and sports professionals.

    The signing ceremony was held at Khon Kaen University in the presence of senior officials from both organizations, regional partners, and media representatives. KKU President Charnchai Panthongviriyakul said the collaboration will encourage young people to pursue professional sports careers while gaining scientific and technical knowledge. He noted that integrating education and sports can help Thai athletes compete and succeed on the global stage.

    SAT Deputy Governor Prodpran Sanammit highlighted that Muay Thai is both a sport and a cultural heritage.     The collaboration is expected to support new research projects, innovation in training methods, and long-term talent development. It reflects Thailand’s broader push to combine education, skills, and sports science to strengthen employability and global recognition in professional sports.
