Korean Air has launched a new initiative to support STEM education and talent development through a four-year partnership with the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization known for its advanced science, technology, engineering, and mathematics programs.
The agreement was officially signed this week in Washington, D.C., with Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Korean Air and Hanjin Group, attending the ceremony. Through the partnership, Korean Air will provide scholarship support for students selected to participate in the Center's prestigious Research Science Institute (RSI) program. The scholarship funding will begin this month and is expected to help talented students gain access to advanced academic and research opportunities.
The collaboration goes beyond financial support. Korean Air also plans to organize educational sessions focused on aviation technology, research, and innovation. These lectures will be conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a separate group of students participating in the nonprofit's programs.
