A group of officials from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), headed by Lao Chhiv Eav, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, recently made a field visit to Hun Sen Run Ta Ek Primary School in Siem Reap province's Banteay Srei district as part of a continued bid to enhance academic collaboration and gauge grassroots needs.
The eight-member delegation from the Ministry made this their second official visit with the purpose of assessing the implementation and potential in the future of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) and the primary school.
During the visit, RULE also donated 65 varieties of basic office supplies to enhance the school's daily administration and teaching activities. After the donation, teachers and the management team of the school convened with the delegation for a meeting to discuss general conditions and everyday challenges being experienced by the school.
As a response to the report presented by the school director, the university delegation also recognized various major issues, such as deficiencies in school materials, kindergarten tables, and garden and green space upkeep materials. In response to the suggested solutions, the delegation committed support for the donation of 24 shoe racks, student bicycle parking, and a new school bulletin board.
Such a field visit confirms the ministry's ongoing commitment to linking the country's higher education institutions with local schools to foster sustainable development and quality education in Cambodia.
