Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and Hong Kong-based Gu Sheng Tang Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) group have launched the Gu Sheng Tang TCM Education and Research Programme. The initiative is supported by a S$1.06 million donation from Gu Sheng Tang, aimed at developing TCM talent and advancing evidence-based research in Singapore.

The partnership combines the strengths of a leading academic institution with a high-quality healthcare provider. It aims to build a skilled, internationally oriented TCM workforce while reinforcing scientific approaches to TCM, enhancing its credibility within Singapore’s healthcare system.

As Singapore faces an ageing population and rising healthcare demands, preventive and complementary medicine like TCM is increasingly relevant. The program will provide students and professionals with structured training, mentorship, and research opportunities, equipping them with skills that meet both local and global standards.

The initiative reflects Singapore’s commitment to nurturing specialized healthcare talent and supporting evidence-driven medical practices. It also strengthens educational and professional pathways for TCM practitioners, contributing to job-ready skills and international collaboration in the healthcare sector.
