Synopsis
Pyeongtaek City has opened registrations for its 2026 Youth-Business Connect event, a small-scale job fair designed to connect local young job seekers with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Pyeongtaek City in South Korea's Gyeonggi Province has launched recruitment efforts for both local businesses and young job seekers to participate in the upcoming 2026 Pyeongtaek Youth-Business Connect 'Meeting Place' Employment Fair, a workforce development initiative designed to strengthen connections between employers and young talent. The first-half event is scheduled to take place on June 25 and aims to support local hiring while promoting the growth of regional businesses.
The recruitment-focused event is part of the city's broader strategy to address youth employment challenges and improve access to career opportunities for young adults. By bringing together job seekers and employers in a single venue, the program seeks to create meaningful employment matches and provide companies with direct access to a pool of potential candidates.
According to city officials, the Pyeongtaek Youth-Business Connect program is a customized, small-scale recruitment fair specifically designed to connect local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with young adults seeking employment. Unlike larger job expos, the event emphasizes direct interaction between employers and candidates, allowing companies to introduce their organizations, discuss available positions, and conduct initial recruitment activities on-site.
The event will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 25 at the Pyeongtaek Youth Support Center 'Youth Rest, Mark', located on Pyeongtaek 1-ro. Organizers expect the fair to serve as a valuable platform for both businesses seeking skilled workers and young adults looking to begin or advance their careers.
Participating companies will receive dedicated recruitment space and opportunities to showcase their business operations, corporate culture, and hiring needs. The city hopes that increased visibility for local employers will encourage more young professionals to consider career opportunities within the region rather than seeking employment elsewhere.

For job seekers, the event will offer a range of employment support services designed to improve hiring outcomes. In addition to direct access to recruiters and hiring managers, attendees will benefit from on-site job matching services, which aim to connect candidates with positions that align with their skills, experience, and career interests. Organizers will also provide professional ID photo services, helping participants prepare high-quality application materials that can be used during their job search.
Eligibility for participation includes young adults aged 19 to 39 who are actively seeking employment, as well as local businesses planning to recruit new talent. The initiative is expected to attract a diverse group of candidates, including recent graduates, early-career professionals, and individuals looking to transition into new roles.
Applications for young participants are being accepted from June 1 through June 23. Meanwhile, the registration deadline for participating companies has been extended until June 16, providing additional time for employers interested in joining the recruitment fair. City officials said the extension is intended to encourage broader participation from local businesses and maximize hiring opportunities during the event.
Both companies and job seekers can submit applications via email. Organizers have also announced that individuals and businesses unable to complete pre-registration will have the option to register on-site on the day of the event, increasing accessibility and participation.
As labor market competition continues to evolve, initiatives such as the Pyeongtaek Employment Fair, youth recruitment programs, and SME hiring events are becoming increasingly important in connecting employers with qualified candidates. Through the Pyeongtaek Youth-Business Connect 'Meeting Place' event, city officials hope to strengthen local employment networks, support business growth, and create new career opportunities for young people across the region.
