SOOP signs MOU with DPU for education focused creator hub

    SOOP has signed an MOU with Dr. D. Y. Patil University (DPU) to build an education-focused creator hub that blends digital streaming, media training, and academic collaboration. The initiative aims to equip students with content creation skills, offer hands-on internships, and support innovation in the growing creator economy while strengthening industry-academia ties.

    SOOP announced on the 15th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Thailand’s Durakij Pundit University (DPU) Durakij Pundit University, marking a strategic step toward expanding content cooperation initiatives, strengthening regional partnerships, and building a long-term ecosystem for digital creators and academic collaboration in Southeast Asia.

    The initiative is focused on advancing Thailand-based streamer discovery programs while establishing a dedicated campus base where students and creators can experiment with new media formats, live interaction models, and next-generation storytelling approaches supported by platform infrastructure. By aligning academic resources with industry-led innovation, the collaboration aims to create sustainable pathways for talent development, enhance cross-cultural content exchange, and strengthen the presence of localized digital media ecosystems across the region.

    Founded in 1968, Durakij Pundit University (DPU) has grown into a leading private institution in Thailand known for its strong emphasis on practical education and industry-academia cooperation, particularly across disciplines such as business, communication, language, and digital media.

    The university’s academic model integrates hands-on learning with real-world application across business, communication, language, and digital media, strengthening ties between education and industry partners through collaborative programs. In recent years, DPU has advanced its AI era transformation strategy under the vision of human potential vision, aiming to equip graduates with future-ready skills, adaptive thinking, and technological fluency aligned with rapidly evolving global workforce demands.

    The collaboration will be primarily implemented through the Faculty of Arts and Communications, where academic departments specializing in media and creative disciplines will play a central role in coordinating joint initiatives. The Department of Arts, rooted in language and culture education, is expected to support exchanges of Korean-Pacific content and enhance global communication capabilities through multilingual and cross-cultural engagement programs.

    Meanwhile, communication-focused units will emphasize streamer collaboration, digital media production, live streaming, and short form content, enabling students to gain practical experience in modern content creation workflows.

    The partnership further explores the development of university student streamers and structured programs that encourage active participation in content creation and professional development pathways. Both sides will engage in co-creation of digital content, along with the integration of campus projects and live events that make use of university facilities and production studios. SOOP also aims to enhance platform operation and content production capabilities, while gradually expanding global content collaboration through sustained engagement with local talent and educational ecosystems.
