The NEC and higher education are inviting applications for scholarships

  • For the academic year 2023–2024, students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya and enrolled in courses within or outside the state are invited to apply for the North Eastern Council Merit Scholarship. The scholarship is available to students pursuing diplomas, degrees, postgraduate degrees, or M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes at any government-approved institution. The deputy commissioner of the East Jaintia Hills district has issued the invitation. Students are urged to review the scheme guidelines prior to completing online applications, and they must present the PRC that they acquired from the Deputy Commissioner along with any other pertinent papers in accordance with the recommendations that have been issued. When renewing application forms for Merit, new applications must be filed exclusively online via the www.scholarships.gov.in website.

    For the academic year 2023–24, students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya are also encouraged to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students (Renewal and Freshmen), which will be given out by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Students must submit their application forms online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). namely, www.scholarships.gov.in. The last date for submitting of applications for both the above-mentioned scholarships is December 31, 2023.
