ThinkPalm & Singapore Polytechnic Expand AI Opportunities for Students

ThinkPalm Technologies and Singapore Polytechnic have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly advance AI-driven Industrial Internet of Things solutions focused on sustainability measurement for small and medium enterprises and start-ups in Singapore. The partnership brings together Singapore Polytechnic’s applied technology expertise and ThinkPalm’s specialised capabilities in IIoT and artificial intelligence to speed up the adoption of practical sustainability tools across the local business community.

Announced on 10 August 2026, the collaboration aims to make sustainability data more accessible and actionable for smaller companies that often lack the resources for complex measurement systems. By combining academic know-how with industry-ready technology, the two organisations intend to support Singapore’s broader ambition of establishing itself as Asia’s leading carbon hub while building a pipeline of skilled talent in emerging digital and green technologies.

Singapore Polytechnic, the country’s first polytechnic established in 1954, has long emphasised strong industry linkages and practical education. Under the new agreement, the polytechnic and ThinkPalm plan to create opportunities for students to take part in joint projects, particularly in sensor design and the co-development of IIoT solutions. These initiatives are expected to give students direct exposure to real-world collaborative work while helping industry partners accelerate the early adoption of sustainability measurement technologies.

Mr Toh Ser Khoon, Senior Director of the Engineering Cluster at Singapore Polytechnic, highlighted the educational and industrial value of the tie-up. “By working with ThinkPalm, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for students while supporting industry adoption of emerging sustainability technologies. This collaboration reflects the importance of connecting education, innovation, and industry needs,” he said.
