XCL Education, one of Southeast Asia’s leading K-12 education platforms, has officially expanded its footprint into Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) through a strategic partnership with Mooltripakdee International School (MIS) in Chonburi. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for XCL, enabling it to deepen its presence in one of the region’s most dynamic economic zones while bringing its expertise in international education to a broader community of students and educators.
Founded in 1988, MIS has grown from a small Montessori nursery into a respected Cambridge International school, currently educating around 1,000 students from Early Years through Year 13. Situated near Pattaya in the industrial heart of the Chonburi-Rayong region, MIS has built a strong reputation over more than three decades, becoming one of the largest international schools in the area. The partnership with XCL Education allows MIS to maintain its heritage and local roots while benefiting from the scale and operational expertise of a regional education network.
With MIS now joining the XCL family, the group’s network encompasses approximately 21,000 students across 19 schools in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand. Alongside existing institutions such as the XCL American School of Bangkok and D-PREP International School, XCL will now offer a rich portfolio of both Cambridge International and American curricula in Thailand, catering to a diverse student body with varied learning needs and aspirations.
Gilles Mahe, Group CEO of XCL Education, emphasized the synergy this partnership creates. “MIS has spent over thirty years building a school with deep roots in its community and a stellar reputation for quality. Our goal is to build on that. XCL brings regional scale and operational depth; MIS brings heritage, trust, and an educator community that genuinely knows its students”, he said. This collaboration reflects XCL’s strategy of combining strong local schools with regional knowledge to create an ecosystem where students, educators, and families can all benefit.

For faculty, joining the XCL network opens doors to shared knowledge and collaboration across 19 schools in four countries. Educators at MIS will now have access to professional development opportunities, curriculum insights, and cross-border career pathways, while students will enjoy the advantages of a networked approach to international education supported by XCL’s advanced technology infrastructure. This integration strengthens the school’s ability to innovate in teaching and learning while maintaining its distinct identity and community values.
The operational integration will be led by Dr Connie Kim, Head of School at XCL American School of Bangkok, together with Kannika Koompairojn, Managing Director of XCL Thailand. Dr Kim brings 28 years of experience in international education, spanning the USA, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand, and across three major curriculum frameworks. Her leadership ensures that MIS will not only preserve its high educational standards but also gain from the depth of XCL’s expertise and regional best practices.
As XCL Education expands in Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian education sector, this partnership positions the group to deliver world-class international education that is both student-centric and globally informed. By blending the legacy of MIS with the scale and innovation of XCL, the collaboration sets a new benchmark for international K-12 education in the EEC and beyond.
