Eight students from across different parts of India and two from the Middle East comprise this year's cohort, who were chosen from a highly competitive, multi-stage screening process. Academic merit, leadership qualities, social entrepreneurship, and problem-solving skills were among the criteria used for shortlisting.

Ten high-achieving students from India and the Middle East have been granted fully sponsored scholarships to continue their senior secondary education at the Global Indian International School (GIIS) SMART Campus in Singapore.

This was announced at a grand felicitation ceremony in Aerocity, Delhi, to mark the 18th anniversary of GIIS's flagship Global Citizen Scholarship (GCS) program.

Introduced in 2008, the GCS program looks to provide world-class education to high-achieving students from all walks of life. Every scholar is provided with complete coverage of tuition fees, boarding, lodging, and living costs for Grades 11 and 12 equating to an investment of Rs 1 crore per scholar over two years. Scholars have the option of selecting between the CBSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) curricula available at the Singapore campus.

This year's cohort comprises eight students from different parts of India and two from the Middle East, all of whom were chosen through a competitive, multi-stage selection process. The criteria used for choosing the students included academic achievement, leadership potential, social influence, and problem-solving skills.

"The Global Citizen Scholarship is more than just money—it's about empowering students to be leaders and game-changers," added Pramod Tripathi, Director, Academic, Global Schools Group. "We are honored to sponsor young minds who think globally and act with purpose."

One of the recipients, Nishtha Nirmita Mahanta from Moran Town, Assam, expressed her appreciation: "This experience has set my life in a different direction. It's not just access to world-class education it's about being part of a community that challenges you to dream big and lead with purpose".

The ceremony united students, parents, teachers, and dignitaries on a celebration of promise and potential. It upheld GIIS's vision of developing global citizens and promoting academic excellence irrespective of geographical or economic limitations.

"Every GCS student is not only burdened with the aspirations of their family but also the leadership, empathy, and excellence values that are the hallmark of GIIS", said Rajeev Koul, Deputy COO, Global Schools Group.

The Global Citizen Scholarship remains a shining light of possibility for high-achieving students throughout the globe, giving them the confidence and determination to enter the future.
