In a groundbreaking effort in support of education equity and social advancement, RSM Singapore has committed S$4 million to nine local universities to set up scholarship funds to assist students from low-income families. This move is a huge milestone by the homegrown professional services firm to contribute back to society in line with its historic 40th anniversary milestone. In conjunction with this, RSM Singapore is also committing S $900,000 to the Singapore Community Chest for three years, upholding its traditional values of inclusive growth.

RSM Singapore, the country's largest professional services company outside of the Big Four and part of the worldwide recognised RSM network, places special emphasis on supporting developing businesses with assurance, tax, advisory, and business solutions. The company has long placed a focus on developing talent and giving back to the community as it expands. This latest donation drive reflects that philosophy.

The nine institutes of higher learning who are receiving this philanthropic donation are Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Management University, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, National University of Singapore, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, and the Singapore Institute of Technology. These donations will hopefully go a long way in enabling worthy students to access higher education, thereby easing financial constraints and providing avenues towards academic and professional achievement.

Chio Kian Huat, CEO of RSM Singapore, termed education and social giving as inclusive growth twin pillars. He insisted that development is accompanied by an obligation to raise up others, saying, "We would not be where we are today were it not for our people, our clients, and the community. Through them, we hope to contribute towards developing tomorrow's leaders, and fostering a kinder society".

The company's contribution to the Community Chest comes under the SG Gives Enhanced Matching Programme, where the government matches donations by 1.5 times as a tribute to Singapore's 60th birthday, SG60. RSM Singapore made these contributions at its recent Charity Walk Carnival at Southside Sentosa, a celebration of its 40th anniversary that involved about 1,500 employees, families, clients, and business associates.
