The 2025 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) opening ceremony was conducted at its permanent site in Guian New Area, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the People's Government of Guizhou Province, the event has now grown into a major platform for developing educational relations and cultural exchanges between China and ASEAN nations.

The 2025 CAECW, scheduled from July 24 to 27, is taking place under the title 'Smart Education Empowering People-to-People Exchanges, Educational Cooperation Enhancing Common Development', in response to the increasing impact of digital learning and cooperation in global education.

The event this year puts a great deal of importance on commemorating the achievement of China-ASEAN people-to-people and cultural exchange activities while broadening the scope and impact of the CAECW platform. It also focuses on enhancing innovative models in the 'Education+' paradigm, promoting integration among education and other industries like technology and industry.

As part of China's wider diplomatic and development agenda, the meeting is attracting greater involvement not just from ASEAN countries but from other nations participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. Organizers anticipate this to place CAECW in a position to be an elite platform for meaningful, long-term educational and cultural collaboration throughout Asia.
