AISSMS Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS IOIT) has taken another step in its internationalisation efforts by sending a 19-member student delegation, accompanied by Faculty Coordinator Dr Varsha K. Patil, to Happy Science University in Japan for a short-term exchange programme.
The 10-day International Student and Staff Exchange Programme is scheduled from 30 July to 8 August 2026. It is designed to give participants structured academic exposure, cross-cultural learning and experiential education while enabling direct interaction with Japanese students and faculty.
Activities planned during the visit include classroom sessions, cultural immersion experiences, institutional visits and collaborative projects. The institute said these elements will help students develop broader global perspectives that support both their academic growth and personal development.

The current visit forms the reciprocal phase of a growing partnership between the two institutions. Earlier this year, a delegation from Happy Science University visited AISSMS IOIT and took part in the institute’s flagship annual cultural festival, Alacrity. That engagement helped establish a foundation for academic collaboration, cultural exchange and people-to-people connections.
Coordination of the year-long collaborative activities has been handled by Dr Meenakshi A. Thalor, Dean – International Partnerships, and Dr Varsha K. Patil. The initiative has received support from Principal Dr Pradeep B. Mane and encouragement from Honorary Secretary Malojiraje Chhatrapati.
Institute officials emphasised that international collaborations are essential for preparing students to function as globally competent professionals. Exposure to different academic environments, cultures and innovative practices, they said, equips graduates with skills and outlooks that are increasingly valued in a connected world.
AISSMS IOIT described the programme as part of its wider commitment to building meaningful global partnerships and offering transformative international learning opportunities. The exchange is also expected to deepen educational and cultural links between India and Japan.
The short-term format allows a focused yet intensive experience for the participating students and faculty member. By combining academic sessions with cultural and collaborative activities, the programme aims to move beyond classroom learning and create lasting institutional and personal connections.
This latest initiative adds to AISSMS IOIT’s growing portfolio of international engagements and reflects a deliberate strategy to embed global exposure within the student experience. As more institutions in India expand similar partnerships, reciprocal exchanges of this kind are becoming an important pathway for mutual learning and long-term academic cooperation.
