- Amazon Unveils Revamped Telangana Model School in Chevella, enhancing infrastructure for 850+ students with new labs, dining hall, solar power, and library upgrades.

- Wider Impact Includes 25 Anganwadis, 20 Schools, 13 Libraries, and 8,700 Meals Daily, along with solar installations and STEM skilling for over 1,700 students across Telangana.
Amazon's announcement of the launch of the newly refurbished Telangana Model School and Junior College at Chevella in Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, forms part of Amazon's larger commitment to enabling economic opportunities through the development of educational infrastructure and empowering communities in the region. The revamped school, which caters to more than 850 students in the region, boasts major civil, electrical, and plumbing enhancements as well as additions of infrastructure, with a focus on sustainability, and designed to enhance the learning outcomes for pupils.
Under the renovation, Amazon has built a new 250-seater dining hall, constructed a basketball court, installed new classroom furniture, and refurbished important science facilities, such as physics, chemistry, and biology labs. The school library has also been completely renovated with new furniture, books, and digital resources to facilitate contemporary learning.
One of the major additions is the installation of an on-grid 9Kw solar power system, which will help the school become more energy-efficient and eco-friendly. This is the fourth Telangana Model School that Amazon has funded as part of its community development programs. The ceremony involved the formal handover of the buildings to the school administration, a guided tour of the campus for guests and dignitaries, ribbon-cutting and flag-unveiling, and a stage ceremony of community participation celebrations. Earlier this April, AWS had also inaugurated a renovation project of similar scale at Telangana State Model School, Gungal. The initiative had a new library, a 400-seat dining hall, rooftop solar panels of 20 kW, rainwater collection systems, and major facility upgrades for more than 600 students.
Amazon has played an active role in education and community building in the area over time. It has set up 12 Amazon Think Big Spaces that have helped 1,700 students with cutting-edge STEM learning aids. Data Center Skilling program has educated 110 students in Data Center operations, out of which 72 found successful placements and 90 more are enrolled.
Amazon has refurbished/added 25 Anganwadi centers and 20 schools across the area, two more being in the process of being refurbished, and 13 new community libraries have been opened to give an added boost to education access. Morning Nutrition Program provides breakfast to 8700 students in government schools of Telangana. Solar energy solutions installed in five schools in the area have brought a total capacity of 68 KW.
