Synopsis
IELTS EduCreators 2026, launched by the British Council in Vietnam, aims to honor innovative IELTS teachers and digital education creators who use social media platforms to make English learning more engaging and accessible.
The British Council has announced the launch of IELTS EduCreators 2026, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Vietnam aimed at recognizing IELTS educators who are transforming English learning through digital creativity and social media-driven teaching methods.
The new award program highlights a growing shift in modern education, where teachers are increasingly using platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Threads to make learning more engaging, accessible, and practical for students preparing for global opportunities.
For the first time, the British Council is organizing an award dedicated specifically to IELTS educators in Vietnam, acknowledging not only teaching expertise but also the ability to connect with learners through innovative digital content.
The initiative comes at a time when short-form educational videos, online learning communities, and social media-led teaching models are rapidly reshaping how students prepare for competitive English language examinations worldwide.
According to the British Council, IELTS EduCreators 2026 is designed to celebrate teachers who go beyond traditional classroom methods and create meaningful educational experiences that help students build confidence and real-world English communication skills.
The competition encourages educators to view IELTS preparation not simply as a pathway to achieving high test scores, but as a broader journey toward improving language proficiency for education, careers, and everyday life.
Samantha Lea Smith, Exams Country Director for the British Council in Vietnam, emphasized the important role educators play in shaping learner confidence and future opportunities.
She stated that when teachers are recognized, motivated, and given opportunities to maximize their strengths, they can generate greater positive impact within the wider community. According to her, the award program aims to empower teachers in supporting more IELTS learners while helping expand access to education, career growth, and international opportunities.
The competition also reflects the growing influence of educational creators in today’s digital ecosystem, where teachers with strong online engagement are increasingly becoming trusted learning mentors for thousands of students beyond physical classrooms.
The IELTS EduCreators 2026 program will offer total prizes worth VND320 million, making it one of the notable education-focused creator initiatives launched in Vietnam this year.
Three grand prize winners will each receive awards worth VND50 million along with personalized gift packages and official 'Grand Prize Winner – IELTS EduCreators 2026' certificates from the British Council.
In addition, the program includes seven Inspiration Awards valued at VND10 million each, alongside ten consolation prizes for participants ranking within the top 20.
The British Council has also announced that all top 20 participants selected from the first round will receive a complimentary IELTS test slot, further encouraging participation among educators and content creators.
The competition will take place across three rounds spanning several months.
The first round, running from May 26 to July 5, requires participants to submit online applications featuring personal profiles, details about their social media educational activities, and an English essay of up to 500 words.
In the second round, scheduled from July 27 to August 30, the top 20 participants will create and publicly share educational videos or video series based on themes announced by organizers. These videos can be published on platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, or Threads.
The final round will take place between September 28 and October 4, where the top 10 finalists will present personal educational initiatives and implementation strategies before a judging panel.
