    • Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas represented Adani Group in its ₹2,000 crore joint venture with GEMS Education to introduce a countrywide chain of integrated, accessible schools.
    • Adani GEMS School of Excellence first opens in Lucknow in 2025-26, with another 20 to follow in leading cities and subsequently in Tier II and IV towns.
    • 30% of the seats shall be allocated to disadvantaged children, which affirms the alliance's strong commitment towards equity, accessibility, and social mobility through education.

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has represented the Adani Group in its ₹2,000 crore (around USD 236.69 million) partnership with GEMS Education, a global K-12 private education leader. The deal, announced in February 2025, will see the Adani Group and GEMS Education develop a chain of world-class schools in India with a focus on accessibility and affordability for students across all socio-economic segments.

The CAM team, led by Partner Subhalakshmi Naskar, offered full-fledged legal advice throughout the deal. Assistance was provided by Partners Aarushi Jain, Pooja Kapadia, and Anand Deshpande, with Principal Associate Diptiman Mohapatra helping along the way. Their knowledge played a key role in designing the partnership and aligning it with Indian educational regulations.

The chief intention of this program is to provide inclusive high-quality education across India. A very first 'Adani GEMS School of Excellence' shall launch in the city of Lucknow during 2025-26 academic sessions. At least 20 similar schools will open during the course of next three years across main urban cities with later extensions planned across Tier II and Tier IV cities.

In keeping with its social equity pledge, the partnership has committed to reserving 30% of the seats in the CBSE curriculum for disadvantaged and deserving children so that quality education becomes accessible to all strata of society.

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani highlighted the fit of the initiative with the social philosophy of the group: "Service is sadhana, service is prayer, and service is God". Gautam was positive that the tie-up would provide the future generations of changemakers to transform into socially committed leaders of India.

Sunny Varkey, GEMS Education Founder & Chairman, underscored the alliance's ability to enhance the coverage and influence of quality education across India's varied areas, upholding the mission to bring education within reach of every learner, be they from low or high socio-economic backgrounds.

The association demonstrates a profound commitment towards reforming the face of education in India with an objective to empower students and enhance the country's growth through affordable and quality education.
