Chong Gene Hang College Implements Lenovo's On-Premises AI Solution in Hong Kong's

  • Lenovo has been able to deploy its on-device large language model (LLM) solution, Lenovo AI Now, in Hong Kong's Chong Gene Hang College, which is a landmark development in educational technology in the country. This cutting-edge platform enables students to tap into tailored learning materials produced from their own curriculum content, while teachers are able to lighten administrative burdens and improve teaching quality.

Serena Cheung, Lenovo Hong Kong and Macau General Manager, highlighted that Lenovo AI Now is different from run-of-the-mill AI platforms as it offers vetted, curriculum-mapped content, ensuring students get accurate information. The system can be deployed in minutes, bringing sophisticated AI to educational institutions of all sizes.

Chong Gene Hang College is implementing Lenovo AI Now for English, Mathematics, and Science, enabling students to develop a knowledge base from available digital resources, such as textbooks and previous examination papers. The platform has resulted in a reported 40% decrease in teachers' time spent on one-to-one tutoring, as students are now able to access help independently.

Vice-Principal Jimmy Chan said that this partnership is an important milestone in the school's digital evolution, readying students for an AI-literate future. The college will continue to develop individualized teaching plans via AI Now to ensure a safe environment for the storage of student data. This project creates a new benchmark for integrating educational technology in Hong Kong schools, improving student engagement and efficiency in learning.
