ECAE Launches 'Seeds That Shape Futures' on World Teachers' Day

    • ECAE launched the Seeds That Shapes Futures program on World Teachers’ Day to empower educators as change agents in UAE schools.
    • The initiative focuses on enhancing leadership, professional pride, and innovation among teachers, guided by alumni and ECAE graduates.
    • Activities include school visits, mentorship, and collaborative projects to strengthen the UAE’s education ecosystem and support lifelong learning.

In commemoration of World Teachers' Day, the Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) has initiated the Seeds That Shapes Futures program to further the impact of its graduates as change agents within the UAE's educational system. The initiative aims to promote the contribution of educational leadership, define areas where the ECAE can improve its academic programmes and provide educators with the ability to guide their school communities towards a future characterized by innovative and excellence.

At the center of this effort lies the ECAE's dedication to its national purpose as an internationally accepted institution dedicated to developing specialized education professionals. It sets a higher standard for teaching professionals in the UAE by shaping skilled Emirati leaders who are prepared to chart the fast-changing face of education and encourage sustainable growth.

As part of the initiative, educational leaders will be empowered through a broad range of activities and projects designed to support them in developing the educational ecosystem. Regular school visits will mark the beginning of the initiative, during which Dr May Laith Al Taee, Emirates College for Advanced Education Vice Chancellor, will meet with educational leaders. These visits offer a ground for sharing insights on challenges, opportunities and direction for education in the UAE, as well as commemorating achievements and contributions of alumni who are influencing the educational experience.

Dr May Laith Al Taee added: "This project is consistent with our leadership's directives to continue empowering educators to spearhead an education renaissance, a pillar of the UAE's vision for development. It aligns with our strategic push to promote teachers' professional pride and educational leaders' pride, to celebrate and esteem inspiring educational role models who enrich the education system across the country. We are proud to empower them and enhance their leadership capacities to establish an environment of learning that guarantees creativity, excellence, and innovation, promotes lifelong learning for influence, and safeguards our national identity for generations".

Dr Al Taee highlighted the importance of this programme, which comes in line with the UAE leadership's directive to empower educators as the main driver behind the UAE educational revolution, one of the most important pillars in the country's development vision.

Dr Al Taee added: "Launched on the occasion of World Teachers' Day, this initiative reflects the contribution of ECAE graduates towards guiding Emirati schools to further achievements, working toward national education goals, and sustaining the college mission towards empowering qualified leaders to govern schools according to our holistic national vision for the education sector. On this day, we honor our students who bring the mission of education with knowledge, vision, values, and hope. They are inspiring role models who demonstrate exemplary international best practices in leadership and management, fostering educational excellence and designing the future of learning".

The first visit under this program was at Madinat Khalifa School in Abu Dhabi, facilitated by Reem Al Menhali, a motivating alumna, who had shared her own journey as a classroom teacher turned school leader, her vision for academic progress, and was honored for her influential leadership in developing an environment of active learning.

ECAE will continue these cross-country visits, spearheaded by its students to ensure collaboration, partnership, and innovation in the UAE's education industry, constantly supporting alumni and future teachers with progressive and innovative teaching methods.

Through the We Listen to Empower initiative, ECAE enhances its strategic position in the education sector by empowering efficient leaders to lead the nation's schools and nurturing partnerships with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), and UAE schools. Leverage alumni expertise, the college progresses Emirati education and curates a future-proof education system.
