- Govt extends free education to children of July Uprising martyrs across government and private institutions
- MoLWA issues directive to education divisions and ministries to implement the initiative nationwide
- Move aims to honor slain students and civilians by ensuring full academic support from primary to higher and technical levels
The offspring of the families whose members were killed in the July Uprising are also entitled to free education in government and private schools and colleges, according to a directive issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs (MoLWA). The initiative is being carried out by the collective efforts of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Technical and Madrasah Education Division and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education with the aim of honoring the sacrifice of unarmed student and civilian lives that were lost during the mass movement.
Senior Assistant Secretary Nusrat Jahan of the Secondary Education wing further added that on the 21st of September, the Ministries had been instructed to take initiatives to facilitate these steps.
As she said, the instructions are intended to give complete knowledge support at no cost to children of murdered families at state and private institutions. The order explicitly says free-of-charge schooling should be given to children of 'July Martyrs' families' in gratitude for the thousands of martyred victims of the insurrection.
Apart from the initial order, on 15th October Technical and Madrasah Education Division also issued a follow-up order to the Directorate of Technical Education to take suitable action to provide free education for July Martyrs' children studying in technical schools.

It is to provide every level of education from primary through to technical and higher education so that the children of those who lost their lives are able to achieve academically without bearing any cost. The move is coming across as a way through which the state is honoring its promise to victims of the mass protests, using education as a memorial and payment.
The families of the victims will henceforth no longer be facing cost‐barriers at both government and private learning institutions, and ministries and divisions involved are tasked with organizing the setting up of these programs across the country.
Overall, the government's policy change opens free education for the martyred July Uprising participants' children at the school as well as college level, including even technical institutions, with orders already issued and departments tasked with taking prompt action.
