The Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology strengthened bilateral cooperation in the areas of higher education, science, and technology with the Mongolian Government.
"We would like to promote closer cooperation between Indonesian and Mongolian universities through joint research, mobility programs, and lecturer and professor exchange," Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto said in a statement here on Friday.
This was expressed during a meeting with Indonesia's Ambassador of Mongolia, Enkhtaivan Dashnyam, in Jakarta on Thursday.
He also stated Indonesia's willingness to send professors to Mongolia as part of education diplomacy.
Minister Yuliarto also provided Mongolian lecturers with doctoral degree (PhD) scholarship opportunities as part of the commitment to furthering higher education cooperation in Asia.
"We hope that through higher education, we can create an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable future. We wish to turn education into a bridge connecting the two great cultures of Indonesia and Mongolia," he said.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Dashnyam appreciated Indonesia's enthusiasm for opening doors to inclusive and sustainable cooperation.
He emphasized that Mongolia's foreign cooperation is mostly focused on the education sector, noting that Indonesia is a potential partner in this field.
He confirmed that Mongolia wholeheartedly endorses the student lecturer exchange program and the scholarship scheme.
The ambassador also showed his interest in visiting academic faculties of universities in Indonesia and examining possibilities for exchanging best practices and educational technology.
