Saudi Arabia is providing 265 fully-funded scholarships to Filipino undergraduate and graduate students for Academic Year 2025-2026.
The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Manila stated the scholarships are integral to the Kingdom's efforts to drive its Vision 2030, with international education at its heart.
"The scholarships we are announcing today are consistent with this direction of strategy, which are indicative of the Kingdom's unabated support for higher education for Filipino students", Saudi Arabian Ambassador-designate to the Philippines Faisal Ebraheem Alghamdi said in a statement.
Those scholarships, he added, would be a 'firm bridge between the youth' of the two nations and are hoped to reinforce the cultural and intellectual bonds of Manila and Riyadh.
The scholarship provides tuition payment for undergraduate and graduate degrees, along with financial allowances, accommodation, medical insurance, and round-trip air tickets annually. It enables qualified Filipinos to pursue any course of study, except medicine, at Saudi Arabian universities.
Interested individuals may apply through the Ministry of Education's 'Study in Saudi' website.
The envoy stated that around 806 Filipino students are studying at Saudi universities, taking a range of courses, showing 'years of consistent academic collaboration' between the two countries.
