The Chongqing Education "Into Spain" Exhibition Tour Launching Ceremony was majestically hosted in Espacio Ronda, Madrid. Under the leadership of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, directed by Chongqing University of Education (CQUE), and sponsored by CQUE's Panda Institute in Spain, the forum is intended to advance educational and cultural exchange between China and Spain, display the features and successes of the education in Chongqing, and establish a brand of "Study in Chongqing."
Officials from the Education Office of the Chinese Embassy in Spain and the Education Bureau of the Madrid Community also visited the event, along with delegations from nine universities such as Southwest University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College, and Chongqing City Management College, along with Spanish teachers and guests from all walks of life.
The tour of the exhibition started with the promotional film of "Study in Chongqing." María Cabrera, a representative of the Education Bureau of the Community of Madrid, emphasized during her speech that cooperation in education should be one of the key components of China-Spain friendly relations. She strongly commended Chongqing for establishing an "inland open education highland" and the value of such educational exhibition tour, looking forward to future cooperation between both sides in more fields.
Victor Cortizo, President of AHEC and Dean of the International Relations Department of Francisco de Vitoria University, pointed out in his speech that language and culture could be bridges linking the two peoples. He wished that such activities would help promote further cultural exchanges and academic cooperation between China and Spain.
Huang Yan, Party Committee Secretary of Chongqing University of Education, introduced Chongqing education around the theme "The City of Education Connecting China and Spain." She extended a warm welcome to young people from Spain to visit the beautiful Chongqing to search for learning opportunities and together create a new chapter of cross-civilization exchange.
Being a center for learning in western China, Chongqing features 77 universities and a whole education system in emerging industries. It has formed educational cooperation with more than 60 nations around the globe and created an international platform by assisting 64 Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and providing full English courses and Spanish majors. At the same time, with various support systems like the "Mayor's Scholarship" and "Silk Road Program," it can offer Spanish students superior education, cultural experience, and convenient services. Huang extended an invitation to global youth to explore academic opportunities and together write a new chapter of cross-civilization dialogue in Chongqing, a city where mountains and rivers converge.
María and Gonzálo, the international student representatives, described their learning experience in Chongqing, China. They shared that they fell deeply in love with Chongqing and wished to pursue their studies there again.
Chongqing Education "Into Spain" Exhibition Tour offers the Spanish people a perspective to learn about Chongqing education and creates a new platform for education cooperation between China and Spain. Following this, the exhibition tour will be conducted in another three Spanish cities Caceres, Seville, and Barcelona in a bid to introduce Chongqing's education in Spain more deeply and further enhance Sino-Spanish educational cooperation and exchanges.
