Xsolla-Benilde Tie-Up Opens Global Doors for Student Game Creators

    • Global publishing access for students
    • Dedicated game launcher platform
    • Industry-driven training and tools

Global video game commerce company Xsolla has announced a strategic partnership with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), marking a significant step in strengthening the Philippines’ growing game development ecosystem. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in Manila, aims to provide students with direct access to global publishing tools and distribution networks.

The agreement was signed in the presence of key industry and government representatives, including Bianca Pearl Sykimte and James Ronald Ho, reflecting strong institutional backing for the initiative.

At the core of the partnership is the co-development of a dedicated, Benilde-branded game launcher and distribution platform. This platform will serve as a curated space where student-developed games can be showcased, published, and accessed by a global audience. It is designed to enhance learning outcomes, strengthen student portfolios, and enable real-time player feedback.

Beyond the platform, Xsolla will extend technical training, platform support, and analytics tools to both students and faculty. This will not only enrich the academic curriculum but also equip aspiring developers with the skills needed for commercial success in the global gaming industry.

The Philippines has steadily emerged as a dynamic hub for game development in Southeast Asia. Since launching the region’s first Game Design and Development degree in 2009, Benilde has played a pivotal role in nurturing creative talent. This partnership further accelerates that momentum by bridging academic innovation with industry-grade infrastructure.

Chris Hewish, President at Xsolla, emphasized the importance of the collaboration in amplifying Filipino voices in global gaming, while Eric Lee, Head of Partnerships for APAC, highlighted the initiative as a launchpad for students to transform creativity into globally playable experiences.

The partnership also paves the way for joint research initiatives and educational outreach programs, reinforcing the Philippines’ position as a rising force in both creative and commercial aspects of the gaming sector.
