Synopsis
Incheon Port Authority has invited applications for its Youth Work Program, offering young participants opportunities to gain practical work experience, develop professional skills, and learn about port operations and maritime industries. The initiative aims to support youth career development while fostering interest in logistics, trade, and port management.
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) is expanding career development opportunities for young people through the second round of recruitment for its 2026 Future Tomorrow Youth Work Experience Program, a project-based initiative designed to provide meaningful exposure to the public sector, port operations, and the growing logistics industry. The application period will remain open through June 14, offering eligible university students in the Incheon region a valuable opportunity to gain practical workplace experience while developing skills that can strengthen their future careers.
The program is jointly operated by Incheon Port Authority and Mirae Service Co., Ltd., an organization entrusted with supporting the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s National Employment Support System. Through this collaboration, participants will receive hands-on experience related to the operations of one of South Korea’s most important ports while benefiting from professional guidance and mentorship from industry experts currently working in the field.
Designed to help young people bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world employment, the Future Tomorrow Youth Work Experience Program focuses on career exploration, practical problem-solving, and workforce readiness. Participants are given opportunities to work on projects directly connected to actual business operations, allowing them to understand the responsibilities and challenges faced by professionals in the port logistics sector and public institutions.
Eligibility for the program is limited to university students who are either enrolled at colleges and universities located in the Incheon area or who currently reside in Incheon. Students selected for the initiative will have the opportunity to participate in two separate work experience programs involving real-world assignments connected to the operations of Incheon Port Authority.

For the second recruitment cycle, IPA plans to select a total of three teams consisting of four students each, bringing the total number of participants to 12. Mirae Service Co., Ltd. will oversee the recruitment and selection process, while IPA will be responsible for delivering mentoring sessions, project guidance, and practical workplace experience throughout the duration of the program.
The central project theme for this round focuses on the analysis of bulk cargo volume at Incheon Port and the development of recommendations aimed at improving wharf operation efficiency. According to IPA, this assignment offers a particularly valuable learning experience for students majoring in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, business administration, and related disciplines. Participants will have the chance to examine real operational challenges, analyze data, and propose solutions that could contribute to more efficient port management practices.
Students interested in participating must form teams of four before submitting their applications through the official Future Tomorrow Youth Work Experience Portal. Following the selection process, successful applicants will attend pre-employment training sessions scheduled for June 25 and June 26. The project itself will run for approximately eight weeks, beginning on June 29 and continuing through August 21.
The second recruitment follows the successful launch of the first round of the program, which began on May 4 in partnership with Jobmoa Co., Ltd. That initial phase attracted 47 participants and is scheduled to conclude on June 26. The strong response from students has demonstrated growing interest in experiential learning opportunities that provide direct exposure to industry operations and public-sector careers.
An official from Incheon Port Authority noted that the first program has been progressing successfully thanks to the enthusiasm and capabilities of participating students. The official also expressed hope that the second round will attract even greater interest from young people across Incheon who are eager to gain professional experience, build industry knowledge, and strengthen their competitiveness in today’s evolving job market. As demand for skilled talent in logistics, port management, and public administration continues to grow, initiatives such as the 2026 Future Tomorrow Youth Work Experience Program play an important role in preparing the next generation of professionals for long-term career success.
