CGH, Hologic Sign MoU to Advance Breast Imaging Research and Education

    • Changi General Hospital (CGH) and Hologic, Inc. have signed a strategic alliance to advance breast imaging and early cancer detection, with CGH becoming a regional center of excellence and international hub for best practices.
    • The partnership integrates Hologic’s Genius AI Detection technology into clinical settings, enhancing diagnostic accuracy as demonstrated in a study involving 5,000 screenings at Massachusetts General Hospital.
    • CGH’s Breast Centre will lead the initiative, utilizing advanced tools like 3D tomosynthesis and ultrasound elastography to pilot innovations, aiming to improve clinical outcomes for women in Singapore and across the region.

Singapore's Changi General Hospital (CGH) has formalized a strategic alliance with Hologic, Inc., the global leader in women's health, to drive breast imaging innovation and education. The partnership is focused on improving early breast cancer detection and clinical outcomes through co-development of real-world evidence for imaging technology.

As part of the memorandum of understanding, CGH will be a regional center of excellence in breast imaging. The hospital will become an international hub for the sharing of best practices and expertise, and there will be a collaborative environment for radiologists and radiographers.

One of the partnership's central themes is integrating cutting-edge technologies, including Hologic's Genius AI Detection solution, into clinical work. The artificial intelligence-based solution has shown promise to improve the accuracy of breast cancer detection, as a study at Massachusetts General Hospital found analyzing 5,000 digital breast tomosynthesis screening exams.

CGH's Breast Centre, which provides comprehensive services for breast cancer screening, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, will be central to this effort. With cutting-edge technology such as ultrasound elastography and 3D mammographic tomosynthesis, the centre is well-placed to deploy and test these new-generation imaging solutions.

This collaboration reflects CGH's dedication to using innovative technologies and collaborative innovations to improve patient care in the area of breast health. With the integration of CGH's clinical innovations and Hologic's technology, the cooperation intends to establish new benchmarks in breast imaging and aid in better health outcomes for women in Singapore and the region.
