- A pilot project in India, launched in April, supports 200 underprivileged youth across major cities with training, mentoring, and hotel industry placements.
- The Employability Program, active in India, Egypt, and Sri Lanka, has already benefited over 6,000 youth, with plans to scale globally for deeper community impact.
Amadeus and the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance are extending their partnership to enhance youth employment and foster inclusivity by enabling young people with the skills and experience required to start a hospitality career.
The program is part of Amadeus' Community Impact program on driving digital inclusion and developing job skills in the travel sector as well as World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance's Employability Program.
Amadeus will make a long-term commitment as an international partner to the Employability Program, supporting its growth in several nations, bringing meaningful impact to communities around the globe and changing lives.
The initial pilot project with Amadeus started enrolling students in April in India, in partnership with the Indian non-governmental organisation Kherwadi. The project will assist 200 disadvantaged youth in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi, and will involve local hotels and international brands. Apart from funding, Amadeus will provide employee volunteering initiatives, mentoring, and hospitality software.
The Employability Program is now running in three nations India, Egypt and Sri Lanka. It has helped more than 6,000 youth graduate with the competence and experience to launch their careers. Glenn Mandziuk, CEO, World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, thanks Amadeus for its generous assistance.
We are thrilled to be collaborating with Amadeus on this pilot, which will make a huge difference to local communities and act as a benchmark for the industry. This collaboration with Amadeus shows how the hospitality industry can be a key to opening doors to employment by breaking down access barriers and ultimately changing lives. We are eager to roll out our program to a global scale and revolutionize the face of our industry.
Francisco Perez-Lozao Ruter, president, hospitality, Amadeus, said "At Amadeus, we understand sustainable hospitality as a way of taking care of the world around us and contributing positively to people, places, and the planet. This agreement is proof that we are dedicated to driving social impact in communities where we work all over the globe".
