The government of Tamil Nadu will put out the notification for RTE Admissions 2025 on October 6, 2025, which will be the start of the application process for admission to private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for 2025-26. The announcement has come after the central government released the state's due amount of funds, which was around ₹700 crore, to make sure that schools that take students in the RTE quota can go through the reimbursement process easily.
Tamil Nadu state school education department, in its press release, assured that admissions under the RTE Act, 2009, will be initiated formally, underlining the government's endeavor to implement free and compulsory education among the suitable children. To make the process more efficient, a specific 10-day online admission period has been set to regularize children who are already admitted against the RTE quota, so that schools can update records and verify all eligible students' accounts.
School administrators have been directed to identify eligible children, obtain written permission from their parents, and submit the total number of seats occupied in entry-level courses by October 7, 2025. After that, the authorities will tabulate and make public the final list of eligible children for RTE admission on October 14, 2025, giving relief to parents as well as schools.
The government has urged the parents and applicants to keep a lookout on the official RTE Tamil Nadu website for updates and step-by-step information on the application process, eligibility, and admission rules. This year's notification would ensure that admissions are streamlined and that poor children can enjoy quality education in private schools without hampering their finances.

The advance notice and transparent announcement of dates indicate the government's intent to ensure on-time implementation and accountability for implementing the Right to Education scheme. Parents and guardians are requested to prepare documents as required and fill up the online application in a timely manner to get their wards admitted within the designated time period.
With the notification coming out and the opening of applications, Tamil Nadu is taking a major step towards guaranteeing inclusive education and equal opportunity for all deserving children and reaffirming its commitment towards the ideals of the RTE Act.
