A transformative chapter in Chennai’s educational sphere unfolds with the grand opening of Ampa Sishya School, an institution that will be established through a prestigious collaboration between the Ampa Vidhya Educational Trust (led by Founder & Trustee Mr. Ampa Palaniappan) and the Kit Thomas Educational Society, which will bring its renowned legacy from Sishya School, Adyar.
The school, which is being strategically placed in the busy Anna Nagar-Kilpauk area, will take in students from Pre-KG (PS1) to Grade 12, with its inaugural academic year scheduled to commence on June 12, 2025.
The Ampa Group will bring its strong background in real estate and institutional development, while Sishya Adyar will bring its decades of academic value and a forward-thinking approach to learning. Together, the two entities will create a school that will provide future-relevant, inclusive education based on the ICSE curriculum and the National Education Policy.

We are delighted to take the values of Sishya Adyar to a new community and aim to establish Ampa Sishya as a school of integrity and excellence", said Dr. Salim Thomas, President of the Kit Thomas Educational Society.
Ampa Sishya has two sections per grade and will provide an environment of care where academic distinction will be harmonized with co-curricular creativity and moral development. Pupils will participate in music, dance, drama, painting, coding, debate, and sports assuring whole-person development from pre-school to senior school.

Ampa and Sishya group are of the opinion that education must not be limited to books but an experiential process that allows students to comprehend better.
In a time when eco-awareness is turning into a requirement instead of an option, the Ampa and Sishya group set out on a pioneering venture to build a green building that would be an educational institution promoting sustainability and eco-friendliness. Their plan was to incorporate environmental stewardship in all the school's design, curriculum, infrastructure, and operations.
The effort was fueled by their unrelenting passion to create a world in which education goes hand in hand with ecological conservation. The Ampa and Sishya community effort was not so much about building a school it was a strong call to promote an education revolution that incorporates sustainability. Though the approval process was arduous, the dedication of the group mirrored the intense demand for education that leads to sustainability, an example that future institutions could emulate. The project was a promise of hope, demonstrating that intellectual development and ecological awareness could be found in schools.
