The landscape of professional mentorship programs in APAC is getting a fresh boost as Assisterhood, a leading initiative supporting underrepresented talent across advertising, marketing, media, creative industries, film, tech, strategy, and business, has officially extended its 2026 application deadline to Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
Founded in 2018 in Brisbane as a bold reimagining of an International Women’s Day gathering, Assisterhood has grown into a volunteer-driven movement across Australia, Aotearoa, the United States, and now Singapore. What began as a small idea has evolved into one of the most impactful mentorship networks for underrepresented professionals, supporting more than 320 mentees on their career journeys.
The program brings together nearly 100 senior leaders, founders, and industry experts who volunteer their time across a six-month mentoring cycle. These mentors come from diverse fields including marketing, creative direction, media, production, design, client services, recruitment, strategy, research, and technology, offering mentees real-world insights into navigating competitive industries.

Selected participants receive personalized one-on-one mentorship, along with access to workshops, events, and both online and in-person learning opportunities. Beyond structured guidance, mentees also gain entry into an active alumni community where job opportunities, referrals, and professional recommendations are regularly shared, making it a long-term career development ecosystem rather than a short-term program.
The initiative recently hosted a 2026 Info Night, giving prospective applicants the chance to interact with mentor-mentee pairs and better understand how the program supports career growth across different stages, from graduates entering the workforce to professionals seeking promotions, career pivots, or re-entry after career breaks.
Assisterhood continues to emphasize inclusivity, encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities across multiple regions. With its expanding footprint and growing network of industry leaders, the program is strengthening its position as one of the most influential mentorship platforms in the creative and digital economy, empowering the next generation of diverse talent to thrive in global industries.
