Bukidnon State University (BukSU) has recently taken a major step in strengthening its academic standing as it underwent the AACCUP 3rd Survey Accreditation Online Visit, a rigorous three-day evaluation held from April 15 to 17, 2026. The assessment covered seven key undergraduate and graduate offerings in the fields of arts and sciences, public administration, and education, all based at the university’s main campus.
The Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), known as the country’s leading body for evaluating programs in state universities and colleges (SUCs), led the comprehensive review. Its mission goes beyond compliance, focusing on ensuring that academic programs meet or exceed national standards for quality education, while also promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and institutional excellence.
During the online visit, accreditors conducted detailed document reviews and stakeholder interviews, engaging closely with faculty members, students, and program task forces. Each academic program underwent a focused evaluation, including the Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, Master of Business Administration, Doctor of Public Administration, Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education major in Mathematics.

University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol highlighted that BukSU’s preparation was rooted not just in compliance but in a deeper commitment to growth and transformation. She emphasized the importance of openness and continuous learning as the university welcomed the insights of accreditors with a shared goal of exceeding academic standards. She also extended appreciation to the faculty, staff, Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), and students whose collective efforts strengthened the institution’s readiness.
As the accreditation activity concluded, Mirasol reflected on the university’s journey as one of 'purposeful progress', emphasizing that true advancement comes from discipline, unity, and intention rather than routine documentation alone. She reinforced that BukSU’s achievements are the result of a shared vision to improve and serve better.
Now awaiting the official results of the AACCUP accreditation, Bukidnon State University stands prepared to embrace recommendations and continue its path toward becoming a stronger institution for sustainable development and academic excellence.
