Cambodia and Lithuania are moving to strengthen cooperation in the education sector, with both nations exploring scholarships, student exchanges, and collaborative programs. The discussions took place during a meeting in Phnom Penh between Darius Gaidys, Lithuania’s Ambassador to Cambodia, and Cambodia’s Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Hang Chuon Naron.
Both sides highlighted the importance of education in developing human resources and supporting sustainable national growth. Ambassador Gaidys emphasized promoting friendship, solidarity, and effective collaboration in education, youth, and sports. He noted that Lithuania would examine opportunities to implement scholarships, cultural exchanges, and joint educational programs to make cooperation more meaningful and long-lasting.
Minister Naron welcomed the ambassador and expressed hope that the diplomatic mission would enhance relations and cooperation between Cambodian and Lithuanian educational institutions. He highlighted the importance of international partnerships in providing quality education and improving competitiveness.

Education expert Dr. Quach Mengly underlined the need for collaboration among public and private sectors, as well as international partners, to strengthen the education system.
