CUJ Signs Fourth Korea MoU With Kyungsung University

    • Central University of Jharkhand signs an MoU with Kyungsung University, South Korea, to strengthen academic, research, and cultural collaboration.
    • The partnership includes joint research projects, seminars, faculty and student exchanges, and short-term research visits across disciplines.
    • The agreement boosts CUJ’s internationalisation efforts and deepens India–South Korea academic ties, with a focus on interdisciplinary and regional studies.

CUJ furthered its quest to make inroads into the world academic community with the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the purpose of academic and research collaboration with Kyungsung University, South Korea. The agreement announced reflects the continued effort by CUJ to build meaningful international partnerships that enhance teaching, research, and cultural exchanges between the two institutions.

The pact will see the two universities work in tandem at many levels of academic and research functions. These would cover organizing seminars, lectures, symposia, workshops, and other meetings where research is in focus, allowing scholars and students from both institutions to share their ideas and experience. The agreement calls for joint research platforms that will also allow faculty members and students to carry out collaborative research in interdisciplinary areas touching on interests of common academic concern and global challenges.

The partnership further allows for short-term research visits by teachers and students to either university at the invitation of specific departments or the university in general. Such exchanges should facilitate further academic involvement, expose participants to different research environments, and encourage cross-cultural learning. Moreover, the MoU includes a special educational program devised in common for students of both universities and an organized system of exchange of faculty and students, thus providing long-term academic linkages.

The Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand, Professor Kshiti Bhusan Das, termed the alliance an important milestone in the internationalisation journey of the university. As per him, the partnership will substantially strengthen academic exchange between CUJ and Kyungsung University and open up fresh avenues for research and teaching collaboration. He said the agreement will not only promote high-quality research and academic activity but also enhance CUJ's international visibility and recognition. He added that this collaboration is expected to be extremely beneficial for both students and teachers, offering them greater exposure to global academic practices and perspectives.

The agreement also constitutes a unique academic value for Kyungsung University. The Vice President, Professor Jun Hyub Park, said that the opportunity to collaborate with a university situated in a tribal-dominated state like Jharkhand provides Kyungsung University with an excellent opportunity to understand and engage with tribal studies and other related areas of research. He said that the cooperation will allow Korean scholars and students to benefit from CUJ's strengths and regional setting in areas related to indigenous communities, social development, and cultural studies.

The pact with Kyungsung University is actually the fourth MoU signed by CUJ with a South Korean university, reflecting its sustained focus on building academic bridges with the country.

The university also further clarified that discussions with two other South Korean universities are currently in the final stages and thus hinted that CUJ's engagement in South Korea's higher education ecosystem is likely to go up even further. These partnerships are part of CUJ's long-term strategy of affording its students and faculty better exposure across the globe while the university fosters collaborative research to address regional and international issues.

The MoU with Kyungsung University underlines the commitment of CUJ to international academics collaboration and knowledge sharing.
