New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated three new educational courses for students from government schools in the city at 'Namo Vidya Utsav' organised under the current 15-day 'Seva Pakhwada'.
The inauguration of three study programs New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision, Science of Living and Rashtraneeti is designed to erase the separation between public and private schools, she added. Addressing the launch ceremony during 'Namo Vidya Utsav', Gupta asked teachers to instill more enthusiasm and innovation in classrooms.
"After landing a government job, it is likely that we take our foot off the pedal under the weight of responsibility. But I want teachers to retain their glow", she said, quoting a couplet to make the point.
"Your credentials are not less than private school teachers. The difference is only in energy", she added. Gupta also emphasized the need to keep students back in higher classes. "Results won't improve if children are sent out in Classes 9 and 11. Rather, they should be helped and motivated", she said.

Describing the rationale behind these programmes, the chief minister stated 'Rashtraneeti' will enable the development of responsible and civilized citizens, while NEEEV will work towards gearing students to become job generators.
The chief minister, a product of a Delhi government school herself, said, "One less flyover can be constructed but schools have to be strengthened". Emphasizing the importance of teachers, she said, "A child regards his or her teacher as a hero more than his or her parents. The kids you serve cannot pay high fees. They are dependent on you".
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, who was also a guest for the event, stated the inauguration under the current 'Seva Pakhwada' campaign was in front of teachers since they are the most important stakeholders to implement these programmes. "Uniformed children who report to school are not pupils for me; they are future prime ministers, scholars, scientists, doctors and teachers", he furthered.
