The Department of Education, the Valenzuela City government, and private sector partners have expanded support for student nutrition and digital learning through a coordinated initiative at Malinta Elementary School.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara led the distribution of hot meals under the School-Based Feeding Program, highlighting the role of proper nutrition in improving attendance, focus, and learning outcomes. The activity also underscored how early health support can help students stay engaged in school and build a stronger foundation for future skills.
Alongside the feeding program, the school received new information and communications technology equipment to improve digital access and learning readiness. The donation was facilitated through DepEd’s partnership with the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines, with contributions from Shearwater Health Advisors, Ascendion Digital Solutions Philippines, and Ernst & Young Global Services Philippines.

A total of 378 ICT devices were turned over during the event, adding to more than 2,000 units already provided to public schools nationwide. These tools aim to strengthen digital literacy, support technology-enabled lessons, and prepare students for future job markets that increasingly require basic ICT skills.
Officials said the initiative reflects strong collaboration between government and industry to address both learner welfare and skills development, ensuring students are healthier, better equipped, and more prepared for lifelong learning.
