Emirates Opens Training Hub to Elevate Pilot Education

    • Emirates opens advanced flight training centre in Dubai to upskill pilots.
    • Features include PSS tech and Level D-certified A350 simulators.
    • Aims to train 1,000+ pilots yearly and boost capacity by 50%.

Emirates has unveiled a state-of-the-art Crew Training Centre in Dubai, marking a major step forward in aviation education. Designed to support the airline’s growing fleet and next generation of pilots, the new facility merges innovation, immersive tech, and high quality instruction to set a global benchmark in flight training.

Spanning more than 63,000 square feet, the centre is equipped with six full flight simulator bays, including the region’s first Level D-certified Airbus A350 simulator. This top tier simulator has been approved by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), meeting the latest Airbus standards with zero audit findings, a rare achievement in aviation training.

One of the centre’s standout features is the Pilot Support Station (PSS), an in house developed tool that allows pilots to configure and plan flights in a hyper realistic environment before stepping into the simulator. This helps maximize hands on learning time and boosts preparation.

Training at Emirates is known for its emphasis on real world readiness. The centre uses detailed session recordings for feedback, helping instructors fine tune pilot skills with precision. Additionally, the facility supports advanced 3D printing, allowing the creation of training equipment components and saving the airline significant operational costs.

With capacity to deliver 130,000+ training hours annually once fully operational, the centre will house 17 full simulators, including units for the Boeing 777X and A380. Classrooms at the site will support courses like recurrent training, command programmes, and type conversions, offering a holistic learning environment.

Beyond this facility, Emirates operates a full suite of aviation learning hubs, including the Emirates Flight Training Academy and Emirates Aviation University, underscoring its broader commitment to educating and empowering aviation professionals across the region and beyond.
